I just want to say what a wonderful time I had at my first Day of Sharing. The demonstrations were so informational and helpful. I am so glad I attended and plan to attend more. I also attended Simi Cake & Confections sugar classes that were held on saturday. These classes were excellant, since taking the classes I feel more confident working with sugar. If you want to work with pulled or blown sugar I strongly suggest taking these classes.

It appears a spammer got into our network and caused some unrest. I apologize for the disruption and have suspended the person involved. I have set a control that from now all prospective members must be approved by me. If you feel there is a reason to suspend a member, please bring it to my attention as soon as possible.
Thank you for your sharing and caring thru the activities on this page.

I just watched the Cottage Food Bill being voted on for the last time and it passed out of the House and Senate and is now going to the Governor to sign into law. The Governor has two weeks the most to sign the bill.
Happy Baking/Cooking Florida

I received the email below from the Florida Dept of Agriculture. It appears that the Commissioner will be making some recommedations at the end of this month regarding allowing baked goods from home. I think it would be a good idea to send a letter to the commissioner expressing our needs for this act and how it will benefit Florida. The commissioner for the Dept of Agriculture is Charles Bronson and you can email him at…

The ICES Day of Sharing in Daytona was a great time for all. There were demonstrations on tropical flowers, sugar molding, using photo printing for decorating, and a stand up baby carriage.
The Cake Challenge was a real hit with the three teams of three in a 30 minute battle to beat the clock, decorate a cake with buttercream, make a fondant bow and most of all, be able to demonstrate caring and sharing among the team members and the other teams, too.

I've noticed that in other states alot of cake decorators have made awesome relationships with fellow cake decorators and I wonder how that's happened? I find it's hard to even get an answer when I ask a question or advice to a cake decorator specially if the decorator is local.
I'm more than willing to help and share with anyone, why can't it be reciprocated? During these difficult economical times, I would love to be able to share and talk to someone in my area, it helps keep our minds… Continue
